So- called freedom……..

We often hear from people that we pick up dogs and send them to Germany, although the animals are living a good life in their own country.

….an independent life, a life in which they can do what they like, lying on the beach being spoilt by tourists.

“Oh look at that lovely stray dog. Isn’t it cute, it just won’t go from my side!”

Have those type of people never really thought, that a dog is an animal that lives in a pack and doesn’t want to be alone? Another point is, that dogs, like no other animal, have been extremely shaped by mans hand.

So called freedom ends at a point, where hunger starts!

That’s where the daily fight for survival begins!

During the summer months the animals are able to survive by begging from the tourists. That’s the only reason why they stay by their sides.

That guarantees survival till the end of the holiday season!!!

 Only a few survive the winter. Most of them will be run over, poisoned or will get ill because of bad nutrition and vegetate towards death.

A dog ill with mange sleeping on garbage. The small dog was picked up by our female animal protector and got medical treatment. She was lucky and has now found a new home in Germany.

Unfortunately help came to late for him!!! How long did he fight against death?

That’s the reason why our help is necessary!

What’s it like in Germany looking for a new member of the family?

If you can’t find a dog at an animal shelter you go to a dog-breeder. Maybe you’ll land at an irresponsible dog-breeder, paying a lot of money for a produced dog, perhaps a dog with a weak character due to bad socialisation or health problems due to over-breeding.

And once again another dog lands in the animal shelter……

On the other side, there are a lot of dogs in foreign countries which are forced to take care of themselves. Dogs that have grown up in a pack and have developed a very good social behaviour and good characteristic features.

The prevention of cruelty to animals means to help animals no matter where they are!

Hermes ( from the animal shelter Paradies ), Thea ( eight years old ) and Grobi ( from the animal shelter Paradies ) cuddling. Both dogs were no longer puppies when they joined the family. Even though they didn’t grow up with children, the southern stray dogs are very fond of kids.
